STANFORD HALL REGIONAL SHOW
Once again there was a great turn out for this show probably the best one yet with 13 cars on the stand the weather was tops loads of sunburn well that was the case for me!! But I would like to thank everyone who came along to this show as it showed us as real enthusiasts when you take into account that there were a number of groups that have been going a lot longer than us with less cars on their stands this just goes to prove what a top bunch of RS nuts we have here in MK.
SURREY REGIONAL SHOW
Not the best show in the world but this was a good place for us to meet some other groups and talk about stuff in general there were only two traders there and this did let the event down plus it tipped down with rain at regular intervals which was amusing for us but not the concourse peeps as after every shower they were drying off their pride and joys and no sooner had they got it dry the heavens opened again. There were only four of us who went to this one but we can’t have 15 cars every time can we???
WEST WALES REGIONAL SHOW
This is a fantastic show and the Eggleton Clan with John’s Crystal Blue 2wd and Lee with his Mercury Grey S2 RST along with Adam in his black sapphire LX(sorry Smoke stone Blue 4x4 Sapphire cossie) myself, my beloved wife Karen & daughter Samantha with my Focus RS, Dave & Pam Rose with Anna’s New Car a lovely red RS1800 Fiesta (Anna love the car it looks great) . We all went up the Saturday afternoon and stayed in a hotel overnight as this way it breaks down the journey making it more of a social event and gave us all a chance to really get to know each other later we were joined by Claire the events organiser for Beds Group who came along to the show with us and put her car on our stand this helped make up the numbers a bit and Claire you are more than welcome to come along with us again in the future. Well when we got to the show the weather was superb yet again and Raymond and his wife Jennifer arrived in the morning but not in a RS as Ray is rebuilding his RS2000 MK2 at the moment. There were loads of traders, stuff for the kids plus they had a section of the WRC Rally stage open for people to run their cars over this looked like great fun if you had the bottle to do it and a new chrome cam cover for Lee’s S2 RST this was fitted before he had paid for it!! All in all another great weekend at a show and we hope more of you will come next year and make a weekend out of it. Once again thanks to all for making this a great weekend.
NORTHANTS REGIONAL DAY
20TH JUNEWell yet another regional show without a good turn out from us this being a local show I would of thought we would have been able to have a good turn out just goes to show how wrong you can be. We only had four cars on the stand and that is a shame as it was a reasonable show the guys at Northants worked very hard to organise the event but some of their traders let them down, but the Formula 1 Jordan was worth a good look at as I spent the rest of the day thinking of ways to fit the Cosworth V10 into my Focus interesting thought but then the heavens opened and boy did it rain it was like a monsoon by lunchtime we all decided it was time to give up and bugger off home. Those poor Concourse peeps were permanently wiping down their cars and just as it was dry the rain would reappear. Better luck with the weather next year Northants.
CASTLE COOMBE
10TH JULYThis is one of the best shows of the year with loads of track action and we were not disappointed with loads going on. Well the low side was the fact that there were only four MKRSOC cars there but we all still had a great day there were some showers but they were only around in the morning and that gave me the excuse to have a slap up breakfast. We had our own Daniel Rose doing charity runs in his fiesta challenge car and at coomb he drove like a man possessed with me strapped in the passenger seat we were being closely followed by a yellow Lancia intergrale who promptly spun out at the last chicane making me glad he was behind us and just goes to show much grip you can get from slick tyres.
HANTS & DORSET
18TH JULYWell what a location The Beaulieu Museum of Motoring worth going to just for the museum but the ice cream is home made and is very Moorish well that’s my opinion now to the important stuff good turn out from the group with 9 cars on the stand and good weather but it was a bit windy and as it turned out a bit to windy as it damaged our new gazebo as we found out at Ford Fair but that is another story this turned out to be a great family day out for those who brought the kids along as the parents were run ragged by them ah bless!!.
Car of the stand was won by Lee Eggleton with his mercury Grey S2 Escort RS Turbo he won car of the night as well at the previous club night too.
But the Cars of the day had to be the ones in the Museum with the Le Mans winning Jaguar and a Ford GT 40 doing the honours for me anyway.
FORD FAIR 2004
1st August
This is one of the biggest shows of the year with traders coming out of your ears and loads of track action. We had a stand for 12 cars and 12 duly turned up while putting up the gazebo we found that one of the struts had snapped the rivets holding it together this was fixed with some gaffer tape I never realised how good that stuff is so now I carry a roll everywhere I go.Then of course there was Chris Petch who amazed everyone by selling his Moonstone Sapphire Cosworth there and then for a wad of cash and then realising the old chestnut of well how do I get home?? We all told him to walk apart from kind hearted Kevin Lane who gave him and his sub box a lift home. A great day was had by all. This was a well attended event and I feel that made the atmosphere even better especially as we are now becoming a well established group with some very loyal and RS mad members.

NATIONAL DAY
22ND AUGUST 2004Here it was the biggest RS Show in the calendar and all the local groups were placed onto the Melbourne Loop so as to make sure we had hard standing to park the car without them being covered in dust as happened in previous years. We had space for 12 cars but only 10 made it which meant we had a little elbow room, but it seemed to me that some other groups opposite our stand had the rest of the track compared to our little square but that’s another issue.
Rob Matthews had his headlights shatter on his way to National Day when a masseratti flicked some rocks up into his headlamps he and Raymond spent most of the morning replacing them with new units bought off a trader.
Yet again the weather was tops with loads to see and do everyone enjoyed the day and thanks to the national committee for organising the best day in the calendar.
